Wow, what a wonderful day we had, celebrating our King’s Award for Volunteering. This is the highest honour given to voluntary groups in the UK and the equivalent of an MBE!

We are so proud of our wonderful Co-Founder and Advisor, Suzannah Fitzgerald, who has just received the Ambassador of the Year Award at the NHS South East Genomics Medicine Service 2026 Awards.

We were all delighted to meet Jess Nolan, Medical Tattooist from Jessica Nolan Studios near Canterbury.

Another wonderful evening celebrating our King’s Award and Christmas with our Maidstone ladies this time.

We all had a great time at Georgios in Margate, celebrating both our King’s Award and Christmas.

Last year, the volunteers of BRCA Kent were fortunate enough to be nominated for the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service.

We are delighted to share today that they have been successful and will be awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service – the equivalent of an MBE.

Thank you to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust – Living with Cancer – workplace peer support group, for inviting Elizabeth and Vickie to be their guest speakers this month.

We are delighted to have received £550 from our lovely member Meg, who held a ‘bye bye booby’ party to raise awareness of the BRCA.

We had a great turnout at last night’s meeting and were all delighted to meet two of our new members.

Elizabeth & Vickie welcomed Kerry Green, Oncology Counsellor from Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust to our last meeting before the summer break.

We had a wonderful day at The Women’s Health Conference at The University of Kent today, networking with other charities and sponsors, answering questions from primary healthcare professionals and handing out lots of our BRCA Kent leaflets and information.

We spent a very relaxing afternoon in the beautiful surroundings of West Malling Golf Club enjoying a delicious afternoon tea.
