Wow, what a wonderful day we had, celebrating our King’s Award for Volunteering. This is the highest honour given to voluntary groups in the UK and the equivalent of an MBE!
We were presented with our prestigious award by The Lady Colgrain, Lord Lieutenant of Kent, on behalf of his Majesty The King, and The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Dr Vasudaven read out our certificate.
Thank you very much to everyone who came along to help us share our special day. A special thank you to Lady Colgrain’s team, Jo and Jenny, plus her Cadet, Faye, they worked so hard to help us arrange the ceremony.
A big thank you to Mr Miles Scott, Chief Executive of Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust for allowing us to hold our ceremony at Maidstone Hospital, and his fantastic team who looked after us so well.
It was wonderful to see our friends from Macmillan Cancer Support, Breast Cancer Now, The Peggy Wood Breast Clinic, and our families and friends.
Next stop – Buckingham Palace Garden Party!
